In 1974 a successful venture that took twenty—four years of Co-Operative struggle came to a close, with the opening of the Tignish Health Center Co-operative Association's very attractive building on Phillips Street. Ten years later, in 1984, the Health

Center members watched as their mortgage went up in smoke. Today the Health Center provides the services of a resident full

time doctor, part time doctor, full time dentist, hygienist and public health nurse. There is also a Pharmacy, foot care clinic, cancer supply room, senior's room, and home care cupboard.
