By Lantern Light The Railroad man carried his lantern To light the dark road to his train The pathway he took was close by a brook, And across a wooded graveyard's old lane. In safety from walking in darkness, his lantern Swung close by his side. Each step he took the Old lantern shook, reflecting strange images so wide. Every night at dark when the old lantern beamed, Not one of the people on the road could be seen. The light from the lantern was reported the devil. Roaming the graveyard in colors of yellow.
