language and his Gaelic kept slipping in. I recall a
joke that was told about a school meeting and one of the appointments in that day was a “Reeve,” who was responsible for fences and for roaming animals. It was against the law to have a ram roaming at large. Johnnie Blue got up at the meeting and said, “If you make a ram of me, I will catch all the reeves in the country.” However, he was considered as a good neighbour.
His son Archie, quite a big man, was a good farmer and made a good living on his 50 acre farm. Archie had two sons, John and George. John was a truck driver and George stayed on the farm.
Archie always had a good team of horses. I often saw him as he drove the boys to school on rainy days or snowy days. I remember him coming into the school and blasting the teacher about something, but I cannot remember what for. I guess he was a good neighbour,
as I cannot remember hearing any bad comments about him.
