Over the years there have been a few local residents who have operated tourist homes. In 1953, Mrs. Edith MacKenzie operated "BayView Cottages ," and Mrs. Arthur MacDonald and Mrs. W.A. Anderson both operated tourist homes. (92) CURRENT BUSINESS ACCOMODATION Owned and operated by Jeremy and Yvonne Lewis, the Lodge opened in July of 2000 and is currently the largest accommodation facility within the village of . Peters. The lodge features fifteen units, ten motel style units, four executive suits with Jacuzzi, and one two-bedroom unit. The lodge employees two to three people and is open year round. The Bayside Country Inn, operated by Helen Ann MacCallum and Mike Casey consists of four self contained two bedroom luxury suites, two, two bedroom luxury suites and a three bedroom luxury cottage located in close proximity to the Inn. There is also a restaurant that seats forty people, with an additional fifteen seats in the lounge area. A bakery and take out facility are also located on the premises. The Inn at St. Peters , owned by Karen and Michael Davey, is situated on the north side of St. Peters Bay . The Inn has sixteen guest suites, a lounge area with full bar, and a dining room, featuring gourmet dining, which is open to the public. The Inn currently employees twenty- five people, twenty of who are from the Cable Head and St. Peters area. The Inn is open from May 1st to October 31st, December 1st to December 31st, and weekends in February, March, and April. Opened in the summer of 2000, the Cottages offer a picturesque view of St. Peters from the north side of the Bay. Marilyn and David Lewis own these two bedroom cottages. In 1976, Neville and Mary Warren Cottages began renting two cottages. Currently, their business has expanded to include fifteen cottages, a restaurant, Laundromat, and playground equipment. During the peak summer season, there are three full-time, four part-time, and two full-time maintenance staff. The cottages are situated in Goose River and are in close proximity to the beach. RESTAURANTS After purchasing the initial canteen in 1992, Rick's Fish and Chips, owned by Rick Renaud and Seana Evans- Renaud , has steadily grown, and currently there are seven full time employees for the season.
