“The school at St. Peters Bay, Lot 40, was vacated by the teacher this past summer — it was diligently taught up to that time, and is alluded to here, principally to show the great destitution, with respect to schools, of so populous and thriving a district as that of St. Peters Bay. "

“The want of maps very much impedes the attainment of this useful branch of learning. The only schools furnished with them are the Georgetown Grammar School and the one at the Head of St. Peters Bay. The latter also has in its possession a Chambers Atlas."

In the order and arrangement of classes as well as the proficiency of the pupils, this school is quite a model to the rest of the country."
John Morrison “High Intelligence; very young pupils excelled in analysis and grammar; branches all thoroughly taught. "
Reported in the Royal Gazette in June of 1858 that the school at the Head of St. Peters Bay was examined. The teacher was John Morrison and there were 23 pupils in attendance.
