effects and clothing were lost in the fire. Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery were away from the home when the fire was discovered, and when they returned were unable to save any of their belongings. After Clair Montgomery 's store burned in 1949, Carman MacNeill obtained a building that had been the Milligan & Morrison dance hall. He had it hauled and placed where the old store had been. He and his wife, Bessie (nee MacKay) MacNeill, operated a grocery and general store there until Carman's death in 1978. Bessie continued with the business for five or six years. Their son, Roderick, continues to operate the busi¬ ness as MacNeill's Convenience Store . He enlarged the building, and along with his wife Debbie Bezanson, provides a variety of services in addition to the grocery and general store, which include a pizzeria, movie rentals, a laundromat, a cafeteria, bedding plants in spring and Christmas trees in December. Roderick also carries on an exporting business, called Westisle Enterprises Ltd. Samuel A. MacDonald was born in the vicinity of Rose Valley . In 1890 he came to Tyne Valley to set up a tailor shop. It is believed he did tailoring in the R.J. MacNeill house. On July 15, 1895, he opened a custom tailor shop on in Charlottetown . Charles Isaac Lidstone (1873-1953) married Adelinda Elizabeth Hart (1876-1963). She was a daughter of Strang Hart (1831-1899) and Mary Jane (nee Wood) Hart (1843-1908). In the Patron's Directory for Lot 9 in Meacham 's 1880 Atlas, Strang Hart is listed as Merchant and Farmer, address Brae Station . (Brae Station Post Office was renamed Coleman Post Office in 1887.) The was renamed Coleman in In the 1891 Census for Lot 9, Strang and Mary Jane Hart are listed with their two daughters, Adelinda and Alvaretta. The girls helped Strang and Mary Jane keep store in Coleman. Strang Hart was well educated, hav¬ ing studied for the Anglican ministry. He was never ordained. However, it is believed he taught Greek, Latin and Hebrew at Summerside High School. In the 1901 Census for Lot 9, Charles and Adelinda Lidstone are listed with one son, Strang Hart , age nine months. Other children born to Charles and Adelinda were Marietta in 1901 and Horace C. in 1902.
