In 1985 John and Debbie Brady and sons started a business called Appleberry Farm, growing apples and berries for sale. The name of their business was later changed to Bradys' Apples 'n' Berries. They have increased the size of their orchard to 400 apple trees with 15 varieties of apples. They sell apple pies by order. They also have many raspberry and gooseberry bushes. Brian Williams has operated Doors since 1986. The Tyne Valley Youth Centre for young offenders was opened on February 27,1989. The Senior Citizens Club of Tyne Valley had their Official Opening on June 5, 1990. They hold meetings and card games in the Board Room at Stewart Memorial Hospital. They organize a Foot Clinic held once a month at the hospital. A liquor store opened in Tyne Valley on December 17,1990. Murphy's Country Lodge, Licensed Community Care facility owned by Carl and Earlene Murphy began business in Tyne Valley in 1996. The Royal Bank closed its Branch in Tyne Valley in 1996. In June of that year, Evangeline Credit Union of Wellington, Prince Edward Island opened a Branch of the Credit Union in Tyne Valley in the building for¬ merly used for the Village Office and Public Library.
