After buying a house-lot in Charlottetown in August 7 778, Chappe/l spent a week at his new site squaring timber for the frame. He then returned to New London to settle his business and to make preparations for the big move. Sending his wife over/and by way of Rust/co he set out on 3 October by ship from New London with his goods and a cargo of boards arriving at Charlottetown on 7 I October. Thenceforth all of his activities are based at Charlottetown.
