(e) Radiology and practiced for three years as radiologist at the Charlottetown Hospital. In 1968 he returned to Ottawa and worked at the Riverside Hospital for ten years. In 1978 he went to British Columbia to practice in Revelstoke and Golden. This was part time work and a chance to enjoy the beautiful country and do some fishing. His home and most of his family were still in Ottawa so he returned in 1981 and resumed part-time work at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for two more years, after which he retired and devoted his time to volunteer work and his favorite hobbies; reading and stamp collecting. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very active in that organization. In 1947 Jack married Doris Jay and was the father of six children. At Jack was already the father of two children while he studied and took part in the Naval Reserve. This was in sharp contrast with so many of his classmates who were trying to scrape their way through their course work without taking on any other responsibilities. The eldest child to be born to Jack and Doris is John Francis who now lives in Ottawa. Mark Allan , the second oldest, lives in Edmonton, Alberta. Patricia Doris , lives in Ottawa. Gregory James lives in Burlington , Ontario . Alison Mary also lives in Ottawa and Karen Teresa , the youngest, lives in Golden , B.C. To carry on the clan there are eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jack's wife Doris says that Jack has said many times that the high point in his life has been his life with her. AH who knew him can attest that this is true. Jack died from cancer in June 1998. In his lifetime he touched many people and he was kind and considerate to everyone. Doris says: "Our children hold him in very high esteem and we all miss him greatly".
