She married Charles, Edward Botwright, who was in the RCAF, and had a daughter, Jacqueline Reedis, born December 29, 1954. Ed was stationed everywhere from Comox, B.C. to Metz, France until they finally settled in Vancouver in 1959, where Jerry worked as a Social Wbrker at St. Paul’s Hospital, and then for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society until she became too ill.

Even with overwhelming M.s. symptoms, Jerry insisted on helping others. If she saw injustices in any form, she’d write letters to her city or provincial representative, or letters to the editor until she saw justice.

Having difficulty getting back and forth from her suite in Vancouver, prompted her to have handicapped ramps installed the whole length of Renfrew St. She always said that you should be nice to everyone, from the janitor right up to the Prime Minister. You never knew if the janitor might be the P.M. one day and vice versa. She'd run into people who remembered her kindness from when they'd seen her at St. Paul's or Children’s Aid, 15 or 20 years before.

Jerry went to heaven via vancouver General Hospital, August 23,1988. She had a beautiful service at St. Jude’s Parish in vancouver.

Her only daughter, Jacqui lives on Maui with her husband, Andy Younger (retired Structural Iron WOrker, artist/mineralogist, ). Jacqui is a Hawai’ian gourd artist, does business communications and just started a Maui bath salts company. Jerry’s two grandsons are doing well, Reed Allen Botwright, born,10/09/78, is pursuing his dream, at the University of Victoria, B.C. completing his 3rd year of Computer Sciences, and Theodore Allen Botwright (Al), born,12/27/79, lives on Maui, works for verizon Cellular, surfs, does web design and gourd art.
