Afier completing his St. Dunstan’s studies Earl attended McGill University in Montreal where he attained his R&A and CGA.

Earl had a long history of employment at Canadair where he worked himself up to be Director of Contract Administration which had offices in Los Angeles, London and Paris. When Canadair nose dived he left to set up cost accounting at the Royal Bank. Up until that time cost accounting was non-existent at that Bank. When his job was finished at the Royal Bank he went on to be comptroller at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He lectured at McGill in administrative finance. As a guest lecturer for science students he was referred to as: ”that guy who steals our students fi'om science to finance.”

On November 7““, 1953, Earl married Nancy Mullin and they became the parents of four children.

The eldest, Philip, lives in Mississauga. and works in hospital administration. He is married and is the father of two children.

Nora, the second eldest, is in advertising, lives in Rosedale, and is married with two children.

Tracy, the second youngest, lives in Montreal, also works in hospital administration, is married and has three children.

The youngest, Glen, is still trying to find himself.

Earl belonged to several organizations and worked always on a volunteer basis. When he died he had a housing development named afier him. He skied, curled, golfed and was a master bridge player. His library contained several thousand books which he collected over the years. He seemed to be happiest after he had a good swim, a barbecue and several rubbers of bridge. Nan says: the children miss him - we met when I was eighteen and married at nineteen. I love him dearly - I can say no more”.
