Jllphy 4. Prince Sometime after Henri had warned his sons about the danger of aggressive livestock, Alphy was once again wandering in the barn. It is unclear whether he had forgotten about his father's warning, or if he had decided to find out for himself just exactly how aggressive Prince, the horse, was. Alphy came to Prince's stall and spoke softly to the horse. Prince stared at him without blinking. Alphy thought, "So far so good." He entered the stall. At this point, he saw the horse's body twitching all over. This should have been a warning, but Alphy continued to approach Prince . Prince was now fidgeting, his hind legs moved first to the left, and then to the right. Before Alphy got any closer, the horse kicked with both hind legs, breaking the back wall of the stall and sending Alphy head over heels into the flying debris. Alphy found out just 'how rough it can get'. It was a hard lesson that cost him a broken ankle, but Alphy learned that his father had been right after all. 12
