Frances Lavers Horses Race on Harbour Ice 'The first [ice] race to be held in Georgetown for a number of years took place on the harbour Friday afternoon, March 17th. The race consisted of three classes: the Free-for-All, the Green Race and the Scratch Race. Although the racing was not very fast it was very close and until the last race heat in each, the prize belonged to any horse. In the Free-for-All the horses came in neck-and-neck during all three heats. About five hundred people witnessed the race. Following is the record: Free for All: Class A 1.
