The Fergussons of Craggan Farm and New Inn Fergussons
Jane (Janie) Helena Fergusson (26.John 3, 8.John 2, 1.John 1) b. Jan. 31, 1885; m. Alexander MacNevin March 23, 1910, b. April 28, 1881, occupation Farmer, d. April 30, 1953. Jane (:1. June 12, 1962. Both bur. Marshfield Comm. Cem. At the time of their marriage Alexander was from Winnipeg, Man. but formerly of the Bonshaw area. The couple lived in Winnipeg before returning home to take care of her ailing father John A. They remained at Craggan after her father’s death. Janie continued “looking after Tupper, his man and the whole works until Tupper decided to get married about 1923” (as per Emma MacNevin MacMillan). Janie and her husband purchased a farm on Union Road.

Ethel Blanche Fergusson (26.John 3, 8.John 2, 1.John 1) b. June 24, 1887, occupation School Teacher; m. Ernest Fenwick Coles (son of Charles Coles and Constance Elizabeth Crabbe) b. April 8, 1883, occupation Farmer, d.Nov. 9, 1968, Ch’town. Ethel d. Feb. 12, 1967. Both Ethel and Ernest are bur. St. John’s Anglican Ch. Cem., Milton. Ernest and his son, Reg, developed a fine herd of registered Guernsey cattle. Ernest and Ethel met when she came to North Milton School to teach. Children: i Annie “Margaret” Coles, unmarried, she remained at home.

Union and Mission Band will be an encouragement to us all for greater service.”
