JOHN MACDONALD was the second MacDonald to settle in the Marshfield area. His parents were Hector MacDonald and Jean Laurie. His grandparents were Laughlin MacDonald and Anne MacGregor. They all remained in Scotland. Anne MacGregor’s brother was reported to be the outlaw “Rob Roy MacGregor”. v1 1. John MacDonald m. Isabell Stewart. Came to Prince Edward Island around 1820. They had a family of ten children, six of them married and moved to other parts of PEI. Children: i David MacDonald. ii MacDonald. This child died before they

left Scotland.

Alexander MacDonald. Alexander went to the USA.

John Archibald MacDonald went to the Peters Road area to live. He married twice.

Ann MacDonald b. 11 March 1852, St. Peters Road, Lot 34; m. Charles Dutney. Ann d. 1934. Ann and Charles had 6 children.

Catherine MacDonald b. 23 April 1853, St. Peters Road, Lot 34; m. (1) William Singleton b. 1842; d. 5 Jan. 1900; m. (2) Timothy Young. Catherine d. 1930. William and Catherine had nine children; Catherine and Timothy had no issue. Donald MacDonald b. 31 Dec. 1854, St. Peters Road, Lot 34; d. 1872.

Christena MacDonald b. 29 May 1857, St. Peters Road, Lot 34; m. John Davey b. 12 April 1871; d. 1918; Christena and John had no issue.

Archibald Ogilvie MacDonald

b. 11 Sept. 1858, St. Peters Road, Lot 34; m. (1) Carrie Ruston (Ruskton); m. (2) Mary LeBlanc b. Buctouche, NB; d. Aug. 1899; m. (3) Elsie Moore b. 4 Sept. 1880; d. 5 Jan. 1962. Archibald d. March 1934. Mary died in child birth. She and Archie had four children. Elsie and Archie had seven children.

Isabelle “Belle” MacDonald b. 29 May 1865; m. William Gillis. Isabel] and William lived in the States and had one son.

John A. MacDonald. Little is known about John A., he is supposed to have drowned off Bermuda, no proof of this has been found.
