His parents were Hector MacDonald and Jean Laurie . His grandparents were Laughlin MacDonald and Anne MacGregor . They all remained in Scotland . Anne MacGregor 's brother was reported to be the outlaw "Rob Roy MacGregor ". 1. John MacDonald m. Isabell Stewart . Came to Prince Edward Island around 1820. They had a family of ten children, six of them married and moved to other parts of PEL Children : i David MacDonald . ii MacDonald. This child died before they left Scotland . 2. iii Alexander MacDonald . Alexander went to the USA. 2. iv John Archibald MacDonald went to the area to live. Elsie and Archie had seven children, vi Isabelle "Belle" MacDonald b. 29 May 1865; m. William Gillis . Isabell and William lived in the States and had one son. vii John A. MacDonald .
