William MacDonald (1.John‘) b. 1816, Dumbreshire, Scotland; m. Feb. 1847, Jane Johnstone, b. 1824, Brookfield, (Jane was the daughter of Alexander J ohnstone and Jane Moffett); d. 9 May 1900; bur. Murray Harbour North, (Old Cemetery). William died 9 Sept. 1877, Peters Road, Lot 63; bur. Murray Harbour North (Old Cemetery). William’s family came to PE] from Dunbreshire, Scotland in 1820.

John MacDonald b. 1847; d. 10 Nov. 1871. John died when he fell off a load of hay.

Jane MacDonald b. 1849.

William MacDonald b. 1851; m. 18 Dec. 1879, Mercy Caroline Bears, b. 9 Nov. 1861; d. 23 Sept. 1949. William d. 4 Aug. 1926. William and Mercy had five children.

Annie MacDonald b. 13 Aug. 1854;

m. William David Johnston, b. 23 June 1853, Peters Road, Lot 63; d. 28 May 1887. Annie died 23 April 1924. William was the son of William Johnston and Elizabeth Jane “Mud” Mother Cowan. Annie and William had five children. Grace MacDonald b. 20 Sept. 1856;

d. 28 Oct. 1938. Grace was single and she was crippled.

Alexander MacDonald b. 1859, Alexander drowned in the Columbia River in Oregon.

Catherine MacDonald b. 17 Jan. 1860, St. Peters Road; In. (1) Edward Butler, b. 1859; d. 21 April 1882; m. (2) James Brown, b. 1852; d. 28 Dec. 1922. Catherine died 1920. Catherine and Edward had one child. Edward fell off the roof of a barn which resulted in his death. Catherine’s second husband James was from New Hampshire, USA. They had no issue.

Isabelle “Belle” MacDonald b. 10 April 1861; m. (1) Wells Mabon; m. (2) 1877, Archibald MacDonald Johnston, b. 9 Nov. 1859, Peters Road, Lot 63; d. 30 Dec. 1911. Isabelle died 14 June 1937. Archibald was the son of William Johnston and Elizabeth Jane “Mud” Mother Cowan. Belle and Wells had no issue. Belle and Arch had five children.

George MacDonald b. 31 May 1864, m. Minnie Hardy. George and Minnie went to the USA.

Peter Stuart MacDonald b. 9 Nov. 1865; m. Effie MacLeod, b. 1866, Quebec;

d. 1925. Peter died 16 March 1920. Peter and Effie had 7 children. Effie’s ancesters came from Stomoway, Scotland.

Jemima Johnston MacDonald

b. 16 July 1868; m. David Butler,

b. 8 Feb. 1861; d. 19 April 1930; bur. Lashbum, Sask. Jemima d. 17 Feb. 1960; bur. Lashbum, Sask. Their seven children were born in Sask.

John Lawson MacDonald b. 1870;

m. 22 May 1891, Minnie Jannet Jenkins, b. 1872; d. 22 Nov. 1964. John died

16 July 1942. John and Minnie had three children.

Peter MacDonald (1.John 1) b. 3 Jan. 1821; m. 22 May 1891 (1) Mary MacPhail, b. ca. 1827 (daughter of John MacPhail and Mary ); d. 12 Jan. 1863; 2 bur. Argyle Shore People’s Cemetery, Lot 30 # 2; m. (2) Mary MacLean, b. 4 Jan. 1840, (daughter of Donald MacLean and Ann MacEachern); d. 3 Feb. 1918, Bonshaw. 3 Peter (1. 19 April 1887. 4 Both Peter and Mary MacLean are bur. in the Argyle Shore Cem.
