Sunday School
The Sunday School program provides religious education for the children of the church. For many years, classes were held before or after the church service during the months of May—October. In the early days of Central United Church an intermediate class only was held October—January, with weather and road conditions being a factor. Records indicate at the time, that a member of the Session or the Minister would fill the role of Superintendent.
As travel and road conditions improved, enrollment in Sunday School increased. In 1961, 85 children were enrolled with 9 teachers, under the direction of Sunday School Superintendent, Charles Reid of Suffolk. Structural changes to the church building over the years have provided much needed space and enables Sunday School to be held during the service. The children attend

Children are the future of the church and Central United Church has been blessed with a vibrant Sunday School conducted under the guidance of dedicated leaders and teachers.
As part of the United Church of Canada, Central Church is grateful for its threefold heritage: the Methodist heritage of evangelical zeal, concern for human salvation, warmth of Christian fellowship and ministry of sacred song; the Presbyterian heritage with its high regard for the Church as the body of Christ, dignity of worship, education of members and the final authority of Scripture; the Congregational background which shows that God’s truth makes men free, and gives a love of spiritual freedom and awareness of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Printed on the United Church of Canada crest are the Latin words “ut omnes unum sint” which when translated mean “that all may be one” (John 17:21)
