STEWART TO CREAMER & OTHERS (N13) The property of Willard and Margaret Creamer currently consists of 8 acres. For most of the past two centuries this property consisted of 75 acres running north from the St. Peters Road to . Donald "The Tanner" Stewart was the first resident of this property. Stewarts also owned the farm next to it on the western side, presently owned by Chad and Lori Anne Lewis . Donald operated a small mixed farm and also worked in a tannery that operated in the nearby community of Suffolk . Peter Stewart , the son of Donald inherited the farm from his father. Peter was a bachelor and carried on a small mixed farming operation as well. Peter sold the farm in the 1940's to Brent Garnhum , who also had a farming operation. In 1953 it was sold to Kenneth Coffin . In 1961 the farm was sold to Alphonsus Steele by the Coffins, who then moved to Souris . That same year, Arthur Rhynes bought the 40 acres directly behind the Steele house that extended to the railroad tracks. A remaining 26 acres was bought by Peter and Wayne Boswell in 1989. Upon the death of his uncle, title to the remainder property passed to his nephew Paul Steele in 1991. Willard and Margaret Creamer purchased the property in June 1993 from Paul. In August of 1993, Willard and Margaret began construction of their home and moved to Marshfield in December of 1993 with their two children, Christine and John. After the death of his first wife, John Ferguson Sr. sold the farm and moved to Charlottetown and opened a business which failed. Returning to Marshfield, he built a store located close to the St. Peters Road at the bottom of "Long Johnnie's" farm (N10). This store was quite successful and remained in business until the middle of the twentieth century, eventually being operated as Muttart's Store . Donald Stewart , who married Priscilla Vickerson was the next occupant of the property. His son, Alexander, married Mary Ethel Godfrey and took over the operation of the farm from his father. Alex and Mary had a daughter Ada. In 1937, Arthur (Art) Rhynes, who had married Ada Stewart , purchased the farm. Art recalls the
