First owner was George A. Shelfoon who kept store. It is not known when this house was built. (It is not shown in the 1880 Atlas). It appears that, after selling this property, Mr Shelfoon operated different business ventures from different locations in the community. This ad appeared in the October 18, 1902, issue of the Summerside Pioneer “Northam Store; just arrived: 1000 lb tea, Trunks, Valises and Fancy Cases. Buying farm produce. Signed G, A. Shelfoon.

In 1903, George Shelfoon moved to Tignish to set up business in that area.

Second owner was Dr. Thomas Campbell (1856) who married Ella Cairns and they had two daughters:
