Donald married Karen MacKinnon, daughter of Norbert and Nora (Barriault) MacKinnon of Grand River in 1973. The house, built in 1978, was badly gutted by fire and refinished. Donald works with Lynden Ellis Produce as a foreman and Karen is a seamstress. They have four children:

-Jason married Susan Boyd, both are practicing veterinary medicine in Eastern Maine. —Tanya married Andy Doran (ref. to Andy and Tanya Doran) -Colin is employed with Lynden Ellis Produce
