Humphrey Dyment (1817), son of Humphrey Dyment and Mary (Ashton) Dyment, emigrated from Hartland, Devonshire, England, settled in Bideford, P.E.I., with his parents, moved to Tyne

Valley and later to Northam, married Barbara MacArthur. His second marriage was to Nancy MacDougall (1822), daughter of Alex and Nancy (MacLean) MacDougall of Bideford. They had

four children:

-Eli (1862) married Susan Poole of N.B.and had two sons: John and Henry.

James (1863) married Laura Belle MacArthur (see next page)
