Sampson, Mr. George Leslie of Souris West to Miss Josephine Fairchild, youngest daughter of Joseph Fairchild, Esq., of Georgetown." (Dailv Patriot, Jan. 31, 1888) D. On Feb. 5th, at Georgetown, Jessie MacDonald, relict of the late Archibald McKinnon, aged 78. She and here husband came to Georgetown in 1233 when there were only 14 residences in the town. Her husband passed away five years ago,. She leaves four daughters and two sons and their families. (From Island Guardian, Feb. 25, 1888) D. At Montague Bridge, on the 3rd inst, Mr. Robert Cameron, an old shipbuildcr and merchant, aged 78 years. He was born in Foss, Pcnhshire, in 1810. The family emigrated to the Island in 1818 and settled in Lower Montague. The deceased engaged in business in Georgetown for some time. He married Margaret McVean of Halifax, Feb. 20, 1872. They had five sons and two daughters of whom Rev. J. D Cameron and Mrs. C. D Poole survive. Surviving sisters are Mrs. James Cogswell of Georgetown and Mrs. Finlay McNeil of Summerside. Dauncey, one of the oldest and most esteemed inhabitants of Lower Montague. Mason, B.A., Mr. Wallace W. Lavers, to Miss Mary J. McConnell, both of Georgetown.” (Island Guardian, Dec. 1, 1888) D. “The remains of William Sanderson, Esq., Georgetown were committed to the earth on Wednesday. Mr. Sanderson was a native of Aberdeen, Scotland. He emigrated to P. E.l. when he was about 20 years of age and remained here throughout the long interval which elapsed until he fell asleep on Monday [Dec 3rd] last at the great age of 84 years. He was in his day and generation an active, honest, intelligent Christian. He was for many years Deputy Prothonotory for King's County and he filled creditably from time to time many other public offices. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn the sad loss of a tender, loving husband and father. He was a most agreeable neighbor,
