D. “In Providence, R.l., on 9th Jan. 1909, John J. Morrison, formerly of Georgetown, P.E.1.. He was married to a sister of Rev. Dr. A. E. Burke. (Patriot, Jan. 16, 1909)

D. “At Georgetown, Feb. 27th, 1909, Anne Cameron, aged 93, widow of the late James N. Cogswell. She leaves to mourn two sons: Rev. Daniel, in Bristol, England, and Aaron in Georgetown; also two daughters: Mrs. Capt. Roderick McKenzie of Flat River and Mrs. Capt. Malcolm McLeod, of Vancouver. One sister, Mrs. Henry McNeil], Portland, survives her. The funeral took place from St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Rev. W. H. Spencer officiating. The pallbearers were Capt. D. “The death occurred at Boughton Island on the llth of February, of Edwin George Allen, at the age of 32 years. He was the youngest son of Benjamin E. Allen. He leaves to mourn a wife, mother, three sisters, and three half-brothers. The deceased was a great sufferer for a longtime and bore his sufferings with great patience and fortitude. He was tenderly cared for during the last four months of his illness by his mother. He was laid to rest in Annandale Cemetery beside his father to await the resurrection morn, the services being conducted by the Rev. McLeod, Dundas." D. “At Georgetown, May 22, 1909, William Gotell, son of Francis Gotell, aged 36 years. leaving his parents, three brothers and eight sisters to mourn his loss.”

D. At Georgetown, June 15th, John Duff. He was born at Nine Mile Creek, P.E.l., Oct. 11, 1827 and lived for some time at Brackley Point Road, moving to Georgetown in 1858. He engaged variously in tailoring, in the lobster business and as keeper of thc Panmure lsland light. He was a Justice of the Peace and member of St. David’s Presbyterian Church. He was unmarried, residing with his sister, Mrs. John McKinnon who predeceased him. Surviving him are a brother and a sister and nieces and nephews including John A. McKinnon,

purser of the steamer, S. S. Enterprise. Rev. Mr. McPhee officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Capt. William Gordon, Capt. Hugh McPhee, Alexander J. MacDonald, Michael Hessian, A. O. Cogswcll and W. A. Easton. (From Patriot, June 21, 1909)

D. “At Brudenell River. June 26th, from paralysis, James De Lorie (si_c_) age 51, son of Benjamin De Lorie. He was born at Arichat, Cape Breton but came to the Island at the age of 4. He was 3rd in a family of 14, the survivors being, Edward, Benjamin, John, Charles, and Murdoch at home, Peter in Pictou, Alexander, in Vernon River, Mrs. J. Johnson in Georgetown, and Mrs. Wallace MacDonald, St. Peter’s. His father survives and his widow is in poor health with the care of a family of 10.” (From Patriot June 29, 1909)

D. “At Georgetown, Nov. 5, 1909, Annie Smith, widow of the late David Lawson, formerly station agent at Hunter River and Georgetown. The late Mrs. Lawson had been in failing health ever since the death of her husband which occurred, strange to say, on the same date, one year ago, Nov. 5, 1908. There are left to mourn one son, Henderson of Manitoba and two daughters, Georgia at home and Eulalie, a student at Prince of Wales College." (Patriot, Nov. 6, 1909)

M. “At the home of Mr. & Mrs. George Parker, Georgetown Royalty, Dec. 1, by Rev. Mr. Toombs, Annie, their youngest daughter to John M. Aitken, clerk for W. A. Poole & Co, Lower Montague.
