D. At Georgetown, Aug. 17, 1914, aged 80, Edward Dicks, a native of Burgeo, Nfld. He was for many years a lighthouse keeper in Newfoundland and was the brother of the late Capt. Henry Dicks. He leaves a mother nearing 100 years of age. ( From Patriot, August, 1914)

D. On Sept. 15, “while working in the harvest field", Mr. Thomas Hessian, J. P. age 80. Bom in Ireland, he emigrated with his father Gilbert Hessian. He spent 35 years working in customs, then as farmer. He leaves 5 sons and one daughter: John in New Glasgow, Edmond in Halifax, Emmet in Milwaukee, Wise, James in Georgetown, Stephen, a law student, Charlottetown, and Gertrude, Milwaukee. Two sons, William and Fred, predeceased him. An elder brother, Michael, also survives. Funeral from St. James’ Church. (From Patriot, Sept. 17, 1914 and Guardian Sept. 19)
D. At Georgetown, Sept. 27, Lewis Randall, at the home of his brother-in-law, Frank Conrad. Born in Lunenburg, Apr. 14, 1833, he came to P.E.l. at age 30 to farm. Interment at Sturgeon. (From Patriot, Oct. 7, 1914)

D. At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Bulpitt, Cardigan, on Dec. 1, John Parker, age 87. Born in Sturgeon, he was the oldest of 15 children. He taught school for some years and was a great reader. His wife predeceased him by two years. He leaves three sons, Herbert, Freeman and Horace all in North Dakota, and three daughters, Mrs. J. L. Wagner, Montana, Mrs. Edward Bulpitt and Mabel in Boston. (From Patriot, Dec. 1914)
M. "At the home of Mr. & Mrs. James M. Roper, East Royalty, on Dec. 30, their eldest daughter, Emma to Reuben McDonald, Editor of the Patriot, Rev. G. C. Taylor of Zion Church officiating." (Examiner, Dec. 31, 1914)
D. “At Boughton Island, Dec. 3, 1914, Mrs. George King, age 70 years. She was born at Lyndalc, P.E.l., the daughter of Archibald and Margaret Mathewson. She lived the first part of her married life in Milltown Cross, but has resided in Boughton Island for the last 12 years. She leaves to mourn a loving husband, four sons and three daughters as follows: Mrs. Edward Praught of Waltham, Mass; Mrs. Hugh McCormack of Chatham, N. Br, Mrs. Nathaniel McKinnon of Milltown Cross; Harry of Chatham, N. 8., John A. of Gasperaux; Murdoch of Sturgeon; Daniel at home with his father, all to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. D. At Georgetown, Jan 18th, 1915, Miss Eli/a Hamilton, age 8(). She was a native of New Perth, but for many years served as housekeeper for Dr. Kaye, Georgetown. She leaves a brother Daniel, Summerside, a sister Miss Mary, New Perth. Two brothers, John and Alexander predeceased her. Funeral to Brudencll Cemetery. (From Patriot, Jan. 19, 1915)

M. At St. James' Church Presbyterian Church, Charlottetown, Feb. 2, 1915, Miss Mabel H. Stewart, daughter of the late A. C. Stewart and of Mrs. Stewart of Georgetown, and Mr. George B. Brace, son of Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Brace, Summerside, Rev. T. F. Fullerton officiating. The bride, a graduate of nurse’s training in the P.E.I. Hospital was “given away” by her brother, Allister.
