In Toronto, Feb. let, Mrs. Annie Richardson, widow of the late H.A. Richardson, formerly General Manager of the Bank of Nova Scotia. Mrs. Richardson was daughter of the late Hon. & Mrs. Malcolm MacDonald of Georgetown and spent summers there. She leaves to mourn two sons: Malcolm W. Richardson and HA. Richardson, Toronto; a daughter Mrs. Joseph de Pencier, Ottawa, and a brother, Harold W. MacDonald, Georgetown. He was born at Southport, but for the past 14 years he has been the faithful mail canier between Georgetown and the Royalty. He leaves to mourn his wife, formerly Annie Trainer of Hope River, an adopted son, Cpl. Fred. McCullough, now in Newfoundland, and two sisters: Mrs. John Duffy, Riverton and Miss Mary McCullough, Charlottetown, Rev. O. Kiggins officiated at the funeral services. Martell) and Millicent, Georgetown; John D. of the Dominion Bureau of Statistics, Ottawa, and James Kenneth, C.N.R. operator; also a sister: Mrs. Mary McAleer, Ottawa, and seven grandchildren. Funeral from St. James Church. (From Patriot, June 20, 1942) D. In Charlottetown, on July IOth, Reuben Macdonald, aged 73, editor-in-chief of the Patriot. He was bom in Georgetown, July 4th, 1870, the son of the late William Macdonald, former Superintendent of Public Works for King’s County and Elizabeth Gordon of New Perth. He was a graduate of Prince of Wales College, taught school for ten years, served as bookkeeper in local firms (when he also served as Georgetown correspondent for the Patriot) and in 1900 joined the Patriot staff becoming editor-in-chief and managing director in 1929. He was an enthusiastic Liberal. He leaves his wife, formerly Emma A. Roper, and two daughters; Doris, student nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, and Jean in Charlottetown; also sisters: Mrs. L. H. Douglas, Georgetown and Mrs. Dr. Scannell, Jamaica Plains, Mass. . Rev. Carlyle Webster officiated at the funeral. On Sept. 10th at Georgetown while at a dance at the Town Hall, Mrs. Hugh Yorston, aged 59. formerly Miss Minnie MacDonald. Her husband also died suddenly two years ago at Hewitt’s lobster factory in Gasperaux She had four sons in active service: Roy, Russell, Melville, & Gordon. Other children are John of Montaguc;Florencc Timmons in the U.S.A.; Mrs. James Bry dges, Georgetown, Maizie, Stirling and Velma, at home. (From Guardian, Sept. 12, 1942) M.
