Acknowledgements In 1999, the search began to put together the story of the Lot 16 United Church. Many people must be acknowl¬ edged for their contribution to this published work; any omis¬ sions are unintentional. Doris Carr collected a variety of church papers over the past fifty years in the hopes of seeing a history take shape. Ken MacLean served as the first chair of the committee. Ken assisted in organizing financial resources. He researched early church and setdement history. Mary MacLean researched many of the church minute books for items of interest. Donna Lyle researched and wrote the cemetery section of the book, edited the family histories and the archival material of chapter five. Doreen MacLean researched early setdement facts. June MacLean was the committee oral historian who contributed many anecdotes. Winston Yeo assumed the role of chair in 2001. He researched the Methodist and political histories. Marlene Campbell was the primary researcher and main writer. Edith Yeo typed portions of the manuscript. She, Dorothy MacLean , and Helen Muttart researched the UCW history. Ruth Miller and Edith Yeo researched the youth groups. Edith MacLean submitted the junior choir material. Helen Muttart was the liaison with former ministers and gathered their stories; she and Edith Yeo compiled the list of memorials. Dorothy Gamble assumed chairmanship of the history financial subcommittee, with Edith Yeo serving as treasurer and Helen Muttart as committee member. The financial committee was successful in obtaining funding from Cul¬ tural Development Program and Employment Development Agency of the Prince Edward Island Government as well as Malpak Arts Council.
