Mrs. Carr was described as a woman of "rare intelligence and deep and genuine piety." She died April 2, 1888. Her obitu¬ ary read, "Acquainted with her for more than thirty years, we knew nothing in her character as a Christian woman to fault, but much to commend." from, the Presbytery Magazine Arthur married Mary Amelia Beairsto (Minnie) of Baltic , a granddaughter of Rev. John Keir . Together, they raised a family of two daughters and four sons. Arthur was one of the guest speakers at the opening of the new Presbyterian church in Lot 16 in 1877. In October of 1889, he accepted a call to St . Andrew's Church in Campbellton , New Brunswick where he served for twenty-one years finishing out his ministerial career. In 1901, he was appointed Moderator of the Synod of Maritime Provinces. In 1904, the Senate of Divinity Hall conferred on Rev. Arthur a Doctor of Divinity Degree.18 Rev. Arthur F . Carr died February 15, 1910 after a brief illness at the age of sixty-six years. He was in the thirty-ninth year of his ministry. Only weeks before his death, Rev. Carr had received nomination for Moderatorship of General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada . At the time of his death the follow¬ ing was written of Rev. Arthur F . Carr. He was an earnest and eloquent preacher, a faithful and sympathetic pastor, an eminently successful minister, who was greatly beloved by his two congregations and by his brethren in the ministry. His life has been a blessing to hundreds and will be an inspiration to many for years to come. 19 Rev. Arthur Lee Carr, B. A. B.D. (1882-1945) Arthur Lee Carr , the third child of George Washington Carr (see Carr history) and Sarah Compton , was born on February 21, 1882 at Carr's Farm in North St. Eleanor 's. Arthur Lee had three brothers: Evan, Villiers, and Austin (twins) and four sisters: Olive, Mary, Sophia, and Irene.20 Arthur Lee , as a boy, kept a diary which reflected his Christian devotion and his insights into the daily life of his family and community.
