always did, with the utmost kindness and greatly did enjoy the three summers I preached there as a student.

I made my home with the late Archibald Campbell and never did I have more thoughtful kindness bestowed on me in any of the many homes where I have sojourned than did he and his three sisters show unfailingly all the time I was there. The Misses Maryjane, Marjorie, and Eliza Campbell were kindness itself to me.

I never think of my years there without thinking of the late Washington Carr who with his good wife and family did much to help, cheer and encourage me as they did all others, in every good work. Washington Carr had a keen and unfailing sense of humor coupled with deep piety and a fine sense of reverence for God, His day, His work, His house.

My nearest neighbor was Will MacGregor and often did I enjoy the hospitality of his home and the kindness of his good and gentle wife. Their home was typical of all the homes in the congregation as far as kindness and considera- tion toward me was concerned. Whenever I think of Central Lot 16 I always have kindly and happy droughts. Most of the heads of families have passed on since I was there and a generation that knows me not will have arisen, but please convey to the congregation my heartiest congratulations and very best wishes on this happy occasion.

May every blessing attend you and yours in your life and work and may the joy of the Lord be your strength and your reward,

Very sincerely yours, G. Ernest Forbes 31
