The Gals in Navy and White

For me, my richest Church memories

Are from the organization, CGIT,

Where we’d dress in our navy skirt,

And proudly wear our navy and white middy.

Jean Miller was my very first leader,

And now, when I think of CGIT, I almost think simultaneously, Of that lady who influenced me.

Edith Machan and Henriettajohnstone Are two others I’ve recalled,

Who devoted their time and talents

And as leaders they were installed.

Together we’d cite our purpose,

And in projects we would partake,

We’d go off to other churches for workshops Where other friendships we would make.

And there was CGIT camp at Augustine Cove, For one week in the summer I did attend;

I remember being so lonesome,

But ‘twas an experience I’d recommend.

Sitting around the evening campfire, Singing songs and having fun,

Bible Study and making crafts,

And swimming in the sun.

In CGIT, we’d work hard to earn badges, And stars, and the rope for our uniform, Studying about things like ‘Temperance’ So that good habits we might form.
