CHURCH REFLECTIONS

n invitation was extended to past and present mem- Abers of the Lot 16 United Church to relate their

church reflections in the history. The responses take a variety of formats.

Gladys Yea Bernard grew up in Central Lot 16.

Children of my day didn’t view the minister as ‘human’ like the rest of us. The difference was brought home to me one sunny morning. My sister Ruby and I were sent to run an errand to the manse. Upon arriving, we knocked on the door and, when the minister came to answer, we were star- tled to see the zipper of his trousers undone. We had a diffi- cult time keeping a straight face as we talked to him. When we left the door, we laughed and laughed. It was our first realization that ministers were not perfect!
