lives. They had a family of ten: Louisa (John Gamble), Frances (Neil MacKenzie), Mary, Purdie (lack Stewart), John (Gladys Smith), Bessie (Colin MacKinnon Jr), Hilda (Iohn Barlow), Bayfield (Susan MacLean, NS), Sidney (Hen- rietta Crossman), and Harold (Verna Bernard).

John and Gladys moved into the old home at Baglole’s Lane and raised a family of eight: Ray, Lorne, Muriel, Keith, Irene, Whiley, Reid, and Thelma. Ray and Mabel live on Baglole’s Lane; Thelma and her husband, Camille Parise, reside in the original home. Keith married Elvira Campbell, daughter of Charles and Ella Campbell, Southwest. They had a family of six: Everett, Lavenia, Beverley, Dale, Cheryl, and Donna. Elvira and her daugh- ter, Donna Gilcash, are members of Lot 16 United. Elvira has witnessed the confirmation of several of her grandchil- dren and the baptism of some great-grandchildren at Lot 16 United. Keith died in 2000 and is buried in the Lot 16 United Church Cemetery.

Thomas married Elizabeth Caroline Gillis from Miscouche and their children included Andrew, Ruby , and George. They lived on the Nebraska Road. After Elizabeth’s death, he married Sadie ('9) and had six childrenzjim, Frank, Bill, Mary (Mamie), Gertie, and Ethel (Toddie).

Andrew married Penzie Campbell (see Campbell History). They had a family of thirteen: Fielding, Carl, Ruby, Florence, Charles, Ethel, Claude, Creelman, Winnifred (Dolly), Norma, Dorothy, Velda, and Grace. Andrew, Penzie, Carl, Charles, and Creelman are buried in the Lot 16 Methodist Cemetery.

Ethel married Spurgeon Ford, and their daughter, Dorothy, married Victor Gamble from Lot 16 (see Gambles of Southwest). Although Andrew Baglole was Roman Catholic, Penzie and the children attended church in the Southwest School. Ethel remembers attending church at the school with her sisters and cousins.

“The place was always full. There was an organ there

and sometimes we would hide the teacher’s rubber

strap inside it. One time before a church service began, some of the boys took the strap and put it in the stove.
