Hazel married Melvin Clark who lived in Belmont in the home presently owned by Ivan and Carol Johnson. Roland married Nina Francis and lived in Central. Harry married Erma MacLaurin and lived in the family home. Lloyd mar- ried Bernice Afileck and lived on the Lyle Road. Mabel mar- ried Alfred Waite, andjohn married Marion Compton. Harry and Erma had two daughters, Ruby and Edith. Edith married Ivan Green and moved to Vancouver. Ruby married Edward Clark. Robert W and Jennie Betton
Upon returning to PEI after WWII, Robert W., his wife Jennie MacLaurin, and daughter Edith, took up residence in North St. Eleanor’s and attended Lot 16 United Church. The family grew with the births of Robert A. and Ruth.
The whole family was involved in church life. With a love of music, Robert W was very active in the music of the church as choir member, soloist, and junior choir director. One of his favourite activities was hosting the “Quiet Waters” program on CJRW radio.]ennie was very active in UCW and supported the activities of her family members.
Edith and Ruth are active in many aspects of church life. Edith has been a choir member, organist for junior and senior choir, a Sunday School teacher, a youth group leader, and Presbytery and General Council representative. She is an active UCW member, plays the organ at Belmont Baptist Church, and is a lay preacher. Edith married Allison Mac- Lean (see MacLean History).
Ruth has been involved as a choir member, CGIT leader, elder and Pulpit Supply Committee member, as well as camp leader. Ruth married Douglas Miller (see NIiller History).
