orchard. Donald and Sarah lived in Canoe Cove before moving to Southwest.

Angus Campbell earned a living as a fisherman in Canoe Cove. He and Isabella had four sons: Alexander, Donald, Dougald, and Charles M. Angus died when the boys were all under the age of twelve so Isabella moved back to Lot 16 with her parents. She later married Murdock MacPhee of the Nebraska Road. Two of the Campbell boys, Donald and Dougald, settled in Nebraska, while a third moved to Surmnerside and the fourth went to Bedeque.

Donald was a farmer; he married Caroline Birch, daugh-

ter of William Birch and Barbara Ann Keoughan. They had ten children: Charles, Annie, Bertha, Sarah (died at 8 yrs.), Wmnifred, Penzie, William, Aretus, Freeman, and Maxfield. Penzie married Andrew Baglole (see Baglole History). Donald and Caroline were supporters of the Methodist Church in Lot 16 and are buried in the cemetery there.

Dougald, a fisherman and a labourer, was married twice. After the death of his first wife (Emelia Gillis of Miscouche, with whom he had two children, Joseph and Ida), he mar- ried Minnie Baglole, and they had a family of four: Eva, Ella, Olive, and Austin. Dougald was an adherent of the St. James Methodist Church. When church union occurred, the Lot 16 United Church held services in the Southwest School which Dougald and Minnie’s family attended. However, when the services were discontinued, Ella, Olive, and Austin joined a non-denominational religion.

Austin, a fisherman, Storekeeper, and farmer married

Winnifred O’Heron, a seamstress, and they had a family of five children: Gordon, Ira,]oyce, Mae, and Marion. Gordon married Glen MacArthur of Lot 14, where they lived for a number of years before moving to a farm in Southwest in 1959. While Glen has always remained a member of the Lot 14 Presbyterian Church, she has been an adherent of the Lot 16 United Church since 1959. They had a family of five: Debra, Christine, Marlene, Shelley and Douglas who, while baptized Presbyterian, were brought up in the Lot 16 United Church and confirmed United. Three of the children and their families still attend the church: Debra (Mike) Richard-
