Alan was a choir member and Helen has served as elder, , Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and UCW member holding various executive positions in the organization. Mae Clark Mae Ferguson, from Wellington, came to work in Lot 16 as a housekeeper. She married Winfred Clark who lived by Clark's Pond in Belmont (Mae still resides in the house). Mae has five children: Barbara, Stephen, Donna, Ronnie, and Darrell. Stephen and Ronnie live in Lot 16 . Stephen married Donna Cameron; their children are Jeremy and Bethany . Stephen was on the Extension Fund Committee and Donna is co-chair of the Board of Stewards, has taught Sunday School and been a youth leader. Ronnie married Nicki Gauthier; they have two children, Adam and Samantha . Clark Family Two Clark brothers came to Canada from England with their parents and settled in Wheatley River area. One of the brothers became a lay preacher in the Methodist Church. The other brother, John Clark , moved to Belmont with his wife and family. One of John's sons, Abel Clark , bought a farm on the . He married Catherine Enman . The family sup¬ ported the Methodist Church where Catherine taught Sunday School and was the Superintendent . She became popular with many of the youth of the Presbyterian Church. Abe and Catherine had the following children: Herman, Ivan, Percy, Earl, and Sidney. Herman was killed in WWII; Ivan setded in Belmont. Percy was killed in an industrial acci¬ dent at Cavendish Farms; Earl was killed in a train accident in Western Canada , and Sid died as a result of a fall from a roof top. A recruiter with the Royal North Police came to Prince Edward Island in 1919, seeking young men interested in the adventure that police work had to offer. Intrigued by the idea, Ivan and Earl Clark signed on and boarded the train for Regina, Saskatchewan to attend the six- month training course.
