and Ellen's daughter, Ella, married Robert Barrett ; their family was Viola, Vesta, and Vera. Viola married Winfield Gamble (see Matt Gamble History). She was very active in both the Lot 16 United Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent and the Belmont Baptist Church. Vesta married Stanley Winchester and they lived on the home property with her father. Vera married and left the community. Jim and Tracey DesRoches Jim and Tracey reside in Richmond with their three chil¬ dren, Meaghan, Riley, and Baylee, who attend Sunday School at United. Jim grew up in Miscouche and is plant manager of the McCain fertilizer plant in Bloomfield . Tracey (Mann), who is originally from Kensington , is attend¬ ing college working toward her Bachelor of Education Degree. Donald Forbes A Loyalist, Donald Forbes , born in the Highlands of Scotland , came to Prince Edward Island as a single man in 1785. He petitioned for a 100-acre grant of land in Lot 16 which was finalized in 1795. During the time of waiting for his land, Donald Forbes lived at Gillis or Low Point , where he married Janet Murphy , born in Cantyre, Scodand. Some of the couple's eleven children were born at Low Point before the move to Lot 16 where they built their dwelling near the banks of Grand River . Donald died about 1825; Janet continued to live with their son, John, on the farm until her death in 1856 at the age of 88 years. Donald and Janet are both buried in the Lot 16 Presbyterian (United) Church Cemetery. John married Anne Nicholson , a native of the Isle of Skye; they had three children. John died in 1893, age eighty- five years, and Anne died in 1913 at the age of ninety-six. Both are buried in Lot 16 Cemetery. The farm was deeded to a son, Donald N .
