Denmark, and Ruth Simpson from Belmont, married Thelma Clark (see Clark History). They have four children: Ivan, Heather, Eleanor, and Kenneth (Kenny). Ivan and his wife, Carol, attend Lot 16 United and are active in church life. Carol is on the Board of Stewards and is a Sunday School teacher; Ivan served on the building committee dur- ing the construction of the church parlour. They have three sons, Andrew, Christopher, and Benjamin.
Kenny married Caroline Buell. Their children are Katie and Gregory. Kenny and his second wife, Michelle Peters and their children, Hailey, andjulia andJake (twins), attend Lot 16 United although they live in Summerside.
Thelma and Allison are very active in the church. Allison was chairperson of the trustees and was part of the building committee when the new parlor was built. Thelma has been an elder and a Sunday School teacher. She is presently super-
intendent of Sunday School following in the tradition of her grandmother, Mrs. Abe Clark.

Eliza and Jenny Joppe
Eliza and Jenny and their sons, Co and Rene, came to Lot 16 from Holland in March of 1986 to become involved in the potato industry. A daughter, Arda, remained in Holland. While in Lot 16, jenny was active in UCW. Eliza was a trustee and served as a member of the building com— mittee when the church extension was built. They have since moved to Summerside; Go now resides in Goose Bay, Labrador. Rene and Pam and their four children reside in the family home where they have adapted their land base to the production of turf.
The Kirks
James Kirk and Catherine MacRae moved from Dumfries, Scotland to British Guiana where they operated a
sugar plantation. They had a son, Robert, and a daughter,
Elizabeth. They planned to move back to Scotland but Catherine became ill. Family stories tell that they planned to move to Australia but Catherine refused to go because she
