stem man, would put up with no nonsense or new fads.
Edward Lockhart, Alexander’s son, and his wife Amy Creswell, became members of the Lot 16 church. Elmer Ramsay recalls the two families arriving at the church in two separate horse-drawn rigs, either sleighs or buggies. Edward Lockhart was a sprightly man and he loved to dress in his Sunday best with his hair parted in the middle with not one hair out of place. He loved music and had a good voice which added to the choir music on Sunday; he was always available for funeral services. Amy Lockhart was a talented musician and she played the organ in the church for years. Everyone loved her. She was also a talented seamstress. Edward and Amy died within a week of each other. Their family, all deceased, were Doris, Vera, Aubrey, and Rowena.
Mary Jane (Lockhart) Ramsay, Edward’s sister, and her husband, Edmund, lived in Southwest where Glen Campbell now lives. Edmund’s parents died when he was very young. He was adopted byjohn andJane (MacLean) MacLaurin and was their much-loved foster son. The MacLaurins were child- less. Maryjane and Edmund’s family consisted ofJean (Earle Chappell), Marian (Robert MacLaurin), Elmer (Hazel Enman) and Hazen (Mary Birch).
Marian is the mother of Campsie MacLean (see MacLean history) and the grandmother of Joan Gardiner (see Lyle History). Elmer died early in 2003; he and Hazel have two children, Eric and Edyth. Hazen and Mary reside in South- west and are active in the church. Hazen is very involved in the mapping of the plot plans of the two cemeteries, United and Methodist, and serves on the cemetery committee.
