Triennial Congress in Vienna, Austria, and to Hamburg, Germany in 1969. He was supervisor of Island Co-operatives for twenty-five years while Mary and son, Roy, operated their dairy farm. They sold in 1991 when they moved to Summerside . Mary was active in Women 's Institute, and was provincial president in 1976-77, and served on the national board, FWIC for four years. She was a delegate to ACWW in Nairobi, Kenya. Both Ken and Mary have been elders, stewards, and are still choir members. Ken has been a member of Presbytery for ten years, while Mary was a Sunday School teacher and is a life member of UCW. Alexander Roderick (1861-1935) Alexander Roderick married Lillian Miller (1873-1924). They lived on a property near the Southwest School. They had four children: Lorna (1890-1984) married Clayton Forbes (see Forbes History ), Lulu (1898-1989) married Cecil Forbes of Tyne Valley ; their daughter, Helen, married Wilfred Lyle (see Lyle History ). Harold (1901-1978) married Ella Williams . Sterling (1907-1982) married Lillian Newcombe . Their family consisted of Doris Montgomery , Ruby Cousins , and Keir ( Geraldine Young ). Sterling was later married to Lila Harris . They have one daughter. Harold MacLean married Ella Williams . He was an elder for over forty years and was active in helping at the church when any work was to be done. Harold expanded the family farm in Southwest and raised registered Holstein cattle. He and Ella had a family of one daughter, Doreen , who married Garth MacLean , and three sons, Roger, Allison and Glenford . Roger MacLean married Campsie MacLaurin, great- great-granddaughter of Humphery MacLaurin (see MacLaren History). They purchased the John and Mary MacNeill farm property adjacent to Harold's farm and began a mixed farm¬ ing operation. For twenty-five years, Campsie has been oper¬ ating ' Campsie 's Gardens' in Summerside . Roger and Campsie have four children: Suzanne ( Gordon MacDonald ), Heather ( Jack Payne ), Vivian ( Pat O' Neill ), and Roger 284 United Church and Its People
