In 1977, Earle and Blanche’s son, Dale (1955-2000), married Verna Walfield, daughter of Willis and Sheila Walfield, and purchased the old store property, formerly the ‘McFadden’ place in Lot 16. Dale and Verna raised two children, Curtis and Melissa.

George Pye’s second wife was Dena DesRoches of Miscouche. Their family was Muriel (Elmer Thompson, see Thompson History),June, Charles, Clare, Vans, Carl, Sharon, and Lorne. They have all moved away from the community.

James Ramsay, from Tyne Valley, purchased land on the Lyle Road fromJoseph Simmons. He married Mary MacDon- ald, a granddaughter of Humphrey MacLaurin, from the Ferry Road. John Ramsay Fan1ily

John Ramsay (abt.1728), his wife Margaret Taylor, their six sons and two nephews, arrived at Malpeque from Argyleshire, Scotland aboard the Annabella in 1770. Two of their grandsons, sons of Donald and Mary MacMillan Ramsay, are the ances- tors of the Ramsay’s of Lot 16.John Ramsay, named for his great-grandfather, owned Rose Hill Farm presently owned by Olga Gamble. John was active in the affairs of Lot 16 Pres- byterian Church where he was one of the original elders. Minutes of session meetings held when Rev. Wm. MacGregor was minister and moderator show that he and John Ramsay had a very stormy relationship.

John’s father was Archibald, and his uncle, Michael Ramsay (Nancy Smith), was the grandfather of Artemus Ramsay (Margaret Thompson) of Belmont and Edmund Watson Ramsay (Mary Jane jennie’ Lockhart) of Southwest (see Lockhart History).
