me to review the symbol on the baking powder can, lard carton, or whatever else I might be using at the time. Gradually, she could repeat the alphabet, and distinguish one letter from the other when she was quite young.
Patsy does not have a birthday on December 25th, but does have one on January 8th which is shared with her daughter, Natalie, who was born on her mother’s birthday.
Patsy completed High School, and then followed in Dianne’s footsteps and enrolled at Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS, and after three years graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. The following year she obtained her Bachelor of Education Degree before beginning her career as a teacher in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Patsy continued to study, and in 1994, received her Masters of Education in curriculum and practice.
Patsy’s visits to Prince Edward Island were quite frequent, but gradually, they began to diminish. Finally, one weekend she arrived home, accompanied by a young man, named Ron Addison. He seemed to like our fair Island, as well, for his visits became more frequent. I’m not sure if it was P.E.I. or Patsy that attracted Ron the most.
On July 31, 1993, Patsy changed her name to Addison, when she and Ron were married in St. Alexis Church, Rollo Bay, P.E.I. They now live in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, where Patsy teaches, and Ron, a self employed Mechanical Engineer, is on contract with Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. They have three children, Nicole, Natalie and Kate.
