in church activities but no documentation was kept, so the record of their names and service to their church is an unfortunate void in our story.

As Charlottetown Baptists entered the 20th Century, they must have paused at some point in time and reflected on their first 64 years in the capital city of Prince Edward Island. They had built and worshipped in three different churches, endured one move and a terrible fire. When their own sanctuaries were not available, they always managed to find space for prayer and fellowship, whether it was an upstairs room on Kent Street, a rented hall or the large gymnasium at the local YMCA. Their greatest pride may have come from the examples of faith they displayed in their community. To a few, they might have been considered stern, narrow minded, or perhaps "religious fanatics”. But those would be the opinions of unknowing people, not God’s! These members had accomplished so much; they would never know that the church they started and built through adversity, Charlottetown Baptist, would continue to grow steadily on through the next century, and that the best

years were yet to come.
