NOTE: Ron H.Atkinnsa

The details in this history of the Charlottetown Baptist Church that make reference to Rev. Ross Howard and Pastor Chris Austin were penned by me. These two qualified servants of God are among the most influential participants in the life of this church

and] would doubt very much they would convey that fact to you.

Ross Howard has been a member for 45 years and served unheralded in just about every important facet of the church’s operation, including Interim Pastor, Deacon, countless Chair responsibilities and Choir member. His wife Virginia, their son Stephen and daughters Susan, Sylvia and Sharon, have all been tireless working members of

First Baptist.

ChrisAustin has completed adecade ofservice to FirstBaptistand has been responsible, through the development of youth and leadership, for the guaranteed success of this Baptist Church for many years to come. Chris’ wife, Michele, has also participated as an unheralded leader behind the scenes. Their daughters, Ashleigh, Hannah, Lauren and Molly, are all active, youthful examples of their parent’s devotion to God.

lam honored to have been able to VVbrk-wfth them in the production of this history. The hours of meetings, copy editing and content considerations are memories I will

cherish forever.

Our children; Debbie, Valerie and Ron grew up in this church and their love of God is always evident in our family, and theirs. A special thanks to my beloved wife, Gloria, who was a part of the activity scene at First Baptist for so many years, and for her toleration of my research and writing hours. Her cancer diagnosis in May of 2004 changed our life together forever. The evidence of her faith, and the example of her true love of God inspired me to work with Ross and Chris, in bringing this story of an outstanding Charlottetown church to you.

God Bless, Ron H. Atkinson
