     anticipation of hearing our name called 
     
     and having to go up to Santa to receive a 
     
     gift. There was always a gift for each 
     
     child from the teacher and an exchange 
     
     of gifts with other school pals. We were 
     
     always greatly entertained each time the 
     
     teacher was called to receive her gift, and 
     
     we laughed gleefully when Santa hugged 
     
     or danced around with her. 
     
    

    
     A dreaded school experience, 
     
     once or twice a year, was the visit by the 
     
     public health nurse and a doctor to 
     
     administer the vaccinations and 
     
     inoculations. Dr. Benjamin Keeping 
     
     gave the injections, and his assistant was 
     
     Ms. Mona Wilson, RN. The class would 
     
     sit in a state of morbid fear as the team 
     
     unpacked the medical paraphernalia in
