     was a very kind and friendly man who 
     
     took great pride in his personal 
     
     appearance. He was quite bald, and he 
     
     was obviously sensitive on this point. 
     
     For this reason he wore a felt hat and was 
     
     never seen without it. Lois was a quiet, 
     
     gentle lady who seldom worked in the 
     
     store, but I remember so well her 
     
     wonderful peanut butter cookies.
