Erwin’s sons emphasized that their dad became a very kn<’>wledgeable student of the sport of harness racing, perhaps because of friendships he formed over the years with people like Willard Kelly, Walter Craig, Francis Mclsaac, Cyril Smith, Clark Smith, Sid Stead, Lester, Graham, _ Clifford Chappell, Joe Arsenault, Dale Sobey, Willis Silliker, Ron Matheson, Buster Lewis. Charlie MacKay.

It is a deserving tribute with the inaugur— al in 2008, that the Erwin Andrew Memorial Series is to he raced each year in a competition featuring the best mares in the Atlantic region. The competition has six components raced at six different racetracks in the Maritimes for a lucrative purse. Erwin will be watching from above and has already marked the six dates on his calendar.
