n 1929 in Charlottetown Ioe Hennessey began 21 lifelong journey with horses 21s a youngster, aged five. His father, W211 21nd grandfather, Mike introduced him early because their lives centered around horses. The first horse Ioe worked around was 21 truck- horse bought by his father to deliver bread for Pineau's Bakery. Ioe helped with the
deliveries and enjoyed the experience.
As 21 youngster. Ioe learned about horses from his father, W211 and well—known Maritime horsemen like Pat McKenna. Tom Holmes. Harry Bailey. Willard Kelly. Lorne Kelly and Wellington MacNeil. He was taught to be quiet 21nd to listen in their presence. Tom Holmes was the horseman Ioe admired most when he was 21 youngster. Tom always had great stories and candy to supplement his
horse expertise.
As 21 teenager, his countiy‘s c2111 to duty during World War II. Ioe enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy 21nd served overseas as a gunner. He was proud of his service but

Wal Hennessey died in 1956 21nd it was in the spring of that year that Ioe opened his own public stable. He always had 21 large stable because it was necessary to support 21 family of 12.
