     The Distinguished Flying cross 15 awarded to o.t‘icers only, and the 
     
     owner is entitled to attach the letters D.F.C. to his name. The Cross is 
     
     silver with ornamental ends. In the centre is the monogram ELLE. sur— 
     
     mounted by a crown. 0n the vertical arms of the cross are propeller blades, 
     
     and on the horizontal ones are wings. on the reverse is the Imperial Cypher 
     
     of His Majesty King George G.R.I. one the 1945 is the year or the action 
     
     which won the Cross. The ribcon is White nth diagonal stripes from upper
