As the month went on, the rehearsals took the full days and were moved to the community hall where the children would get used to performing on the stage. Some of the parents or older boys went to the hall in the morning to get the wood stove started so it would be comfortable and warm. The concert took place in the evening and started with " O Canada ". It included a great variety of entertainment including drills, recitations, dialogues, singing and rhythm band selections, dance routines (usually square dancing) and always a pageant with a nativity scene. One could always count on the grade 1 class singing, "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth". There was always an intermission when home made fudge was 42
