Women ’5 Institute

The Women’s Institute in Argyle Shore was organized on February 23, 1950, at the home ofPauline and John Donald MaCPhail. On that cold winters night, two ladies from the head ofiice in Charlottetown, Miss Boswell and Miss Robbins, braved the winter roads to meet with 18 interested women from the district to set up an organization that

would be an integral part of “The Shore” ever since. The founding members were:
